Kutumba is a folk instrumental ensemble committed to the celebration, research and preservation of the diversity that exists in indigenous Nepali music. Kutumba firmly believes that this richness in Nepali music is directly significant of the rich diversity that exists in the Nepali people. Comprised of seven young and spirited musicians, Kutumba has played a significant role in popularizing Nepali folk instruments such as the Sarangi, Tungna, Dhimay, Khin, Bansuri and Murchunga (to name just a few of the 32 instruments in the Kutumba library) among global folk connoisseurs, and most excitingly, among fellow Nepali youth. The word Kutumba holds a special meaning in the Nepali language. It stands for a unique bond among community members. With special interest in community building through music, Kutumba engages in various community and development initiatives using their music as a tool for expression and communication. Kutumba has released three albums in the last three years, their most recent one being 'Naulo Bihani'. Also visit
